Great story Enjoyed this book a lot. The story is what I would call a family drama. For the most part it takes place in Maui, Hawaii which got my attention. The story was very good—I felt like in places it could have gone a little deeper but I enjoyed it and would definitely read it again. 8 people found this helpful.   The Very Busy Spider was a favorite of my son”™s from the get go. We have the board book edition and what I love about it, is that the spider web in it is raised and offers a sensory element to reading the story. This is a story of hard work, persistence and also helps reinforce animal sounds. Perfect for toddlers!

America is a country rich in history and stories. As a melting pot of cultures, our national literature comes from all over the world. One of the best ways to teach our children about other cultures is through books, and in honor of Black History Month, I have put together some of my favorite African and African American folk tales that are perfect to share with children.   LAUREN ESPOSITO: Yeah. So that’s the story about a spider called Agelenopsis agrata. It’s a funnel-weaving spider, very similar to house spiders that are in a lot of homes in North America. In the same family. And in this spider, males produce a pheromone that they waft over the female with their pedipalps in front of their face.
